Description
Process Control Engineers provide process technical expertise and services related to the configuration and operation of process control systems and operator interfaces. Provide hands-on experience and expertise to operators. Design, implement, document, test, train and maintain DCS based controls systems to support optimum production.
Responsibilities
* Lead development, implementation and maintenance of regulatory control schemes from single loop to more complex cascade and feed-forward strategies
* Assist in development, implementation and maintenance of advanced control systems (APC)
* Respond to control concerns at the unit operator level
* Train operators, engineers, production superintendents and operations supervisors in regard to control schemes.
* Generate ideas/opportunities for improvement projects
* Provide controls technical content for operating manuals detailing how controls are designed to work and how the operators interface with the controls
* Participate as required in major project related activities
* Ensure controls are aligned with refinery optimization direction
* Develop and maintain process control documentation
* Serve as controls group representative for controls related MOC support.
* Work with DCS Techs to create, maintain, modify and troubleshoot DCS database and graphics.
Qualifications
Basic/Required Qualifications
* B.S. or higher.
* Process Control technical training and/or experience
* Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical.
* Five years of direct experience in refining and or chemical industry.
* Three years of direct experience with Honeywell DCS systems.
* Strong oral/written communication skills and the ability to interact and work in a team environment.
* Computer proficient including applications for word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
* Demonstrated ability to work on cross discipline teams
